Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By using Relay ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. The Service
Relay provides realtime WebSocket infrastructure including channels, presence, pub/sub messaging, and related APIs. We offer free and paid tiers with different usage limits.
3. Your Account
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- You're responsible for activity under your account.
- Keep your API keys and secrets confidential.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
- Transmit malware, spam, or illegal content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data
- Exceed rate limits or circumvent usage restrictions
- Resell the Service without written permission
5. Data and Privacy
- We process data as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You retain ownership of data you transmit through the Service.
- We may collect usage metrics to operate and improve the Service.
- Messages are transient by default. Cache channels and message history retain data per your plan's retention period.
6. Payment
- Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe.
- You can cancel anytime. Access continues until the end of the billing period.
- We may change pricing with 30 days' notice.
- Overdue accounts may have service suspended.
7. Service Level
- We target 99.9% uptime but don't guarantee it on free plans.
- Paid plans include our best-effort SLA.
- We'll notify you of planned maintenance when possible.
8. Termination
- You may close your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
- On termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is." We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
